Spread the love

Growing up near Hannibal, MO I am familiar with a few of Mark Twain’s quotes, especially when he said; “ I can live for two months  on a good compliment.”  All humans, not just coaches and athletes, need and want praise, acceptance and recognition. I guess that’s why we regularly see athletes overwhelmingly joyful on trophy day.

This past month we recognized all the winning teams from our  Annual Baseball Tournament we sponsor in Valle de La Pascua, VZ. Through this tournament we have the opportunity to impact over a thousand athletes, their families, and key leaders in the community.  But for us the real trophy, the one that lasts forever, is seeing one of our own share his testimony with over 5,000  people. His name is Jesus and he is another one of God’s redemptive stories of grace.

Jesus grew up the son of poor caretakers that live outside of the city. After joining our baseball academy and accepting Jesus Christ he was rejected by family members that follow Satan, and homeless, yet he remained strong in the faith.  Today, he has turned himself into a MLB prospect with interest from several teams. Jesus already has his trophy, but please pray for his MLB dream.
