Some 3 million Venezuelans – or a tenth of the population – have left Venezuela since late leader Hugo Chavez started his Socialist revolution in 1999. That number continues to increase as over 30,000 enter Colombia every day in search of food and work, many arriving in Cartagena. You and I can’t imagine how terrible things are there or what would be so bad that it would make us leave our country. But my staff remain. They are committed to fight the good fight and try to be a light for others.
That is why I have made it a priority to bring my staff to Colombia for a time of spiritual renewal and training. Each day we woke up early and went to the beach before sunrise to spend 30 minutes just listening to the waves of the ocean and listening to God… no talking to anyone. As the sun came up we would all come together for prayer before returning back to the hotel for training and every time each of my Venezuelan staff would be full of tears. Please hold these men up in prayer. Every day is a battle for them just to survive.
